Herbed Cheese Latke Spread

  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cooking Time: none!
  • Serves: 10
Tools: Medium sized serving bowl, spoon for mixing

Latkes are always delicious when dipped into chilled apple sauce or tangy sour cream, and now we’ve created one more new, zesty option. This Israeli-style spread complements both traditional latkes and sweet latkes, and can be used as a fun appetizer when spread on mini-latkes!

  • Food Type: Dairy
  • Holiday: Chanuka
  • Special Diet: Vegetarian
  • 1 container Israeli Tnuva 5% creamy soft cheese (about 1 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon(s) of lemon or lime juice
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon(s) of any fresh herb, such as basil, dill or tarragon

1. Empty the Tnuva cheese into a medium sized serving bowl.

2. Mix the cheese together with the lemon or lime juice.

3. Add the salt and the fresh herbs and mix well.

4. Enjoy immediately with fresh latkes or chill, covered, in the refrigerator until serving.
