Blackberry Limeade

  • Prep Time: 20 minutes
  • Cooking Time: none
  • Serves: 4
Tools: Lime juicer, blender or food processor, strainer, large pitcher, spatula

This refreshing limeade is a real treat on a warm summer evening. It can be enjoyed on its own but I especially like it once it’s mixed with a light, sparkling wine. The juicy blackberries pair perfectly with the mouth-puckering limes.

  • Part of Meal: Beverage
  • Food Type: Parve
  • Service Temp: Cold
  • Special Diet: Vegetarian
  • 2 cup(s) frozen blackberries
  • 1 cup(s) fresh lime juice (from 10 limes)
  • 3/4 cup(s) granulated sugar
  • 4 cup(s) cold water
  • ice
  • 1/2 bottle sweet white wine, like Muscato (optional)
  1. To make a blackberry syrup, blend 1 cup of frozen blackberries with 1 tablespoon of water in a blender or food processor. Once blended, strain the frozen blackberry syrup and discard the seeds.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the fresh squeezed lime juice, sugar, cold water, blackberry syrup and ice. Stir together with a spatula until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Float the remaining cup of frozen blackberries in the pitcher.
  4. Serve as is or add 2 cups of sweet white wine to make an alcoholic spritzer.
